“Who’se she?” Soul
was squinting towards the store, “and did he just leave my store
unattended?”
Missy stood there,
already in a tad bit of shock from her make over, and watched as a young woman
led Gus towards the corner. There was
something about that girl that made Missy uncomfortable. She couldn’t say exactly what it was. It wasn’t anything concrete. Just a feeling in the pit of her
stomach.
“I’ll follow
them.” Missy smiled, taking the bags
from Soul. “That’s my job, after
all. You should get back to the store. Didn’t he leave all those kids roaming
around, unattended?”
“Son of a
bitch.” Soul took off running towards
the front door of the book store. “You
better kick him in the balls for me when you catch up to him!”
“Will do!”
Once Soul vanished
back into the shop, Missy made her way down the sidewalk. Gus and the girl had already rounded the
corner, but they couldn’t have gotten that far.
She had to contain herself as she made walked, the joy from her little
shopping spree still bubbling up inside of her.
She had missed all
that stuff, without ever realizing it.
In the Angelic realm everyone always seemed so content, but now that she
was back on earth she began to feel that pull back to her old life. There were no memories, though. It was just feelings, a familiar warmth here
and there.
She rounded the
corner and froze, her nose catching a whiff of something foul.
Brimstone.
She could feel her
back muscles tighten.
Where had Gus gone,
and who the hell was that girl with him?
It was from her, Missy just knew it.
That bitch was a
demoness, and she had just dragged Gus off to do God knows what to him.
