I ran outside, Rita right
behind me.
One of those things,
those laughing demons we had seen in Oak Park, stumbled down the street, their
feet catching on the cracked pavement.
It turned its eyeless
face towards me. The thing was a young man once. He had been handsome, I could tell that much,
but his once handsome face was now cracked and flaking. Dried blood was caked around his eyes, and
his lips were twisted into a too big grin.
He paused, sensing
us.
“Seer!” He burst into a
fit of cackles. “You… HA… have said too… HA… much!”
I could hear Rita
gasp.
The thing rushed us.
