“You little sssshhhiiiiitttsss…” The voice hissed from the
remaining shadows.
Fuck, I thought to
myself. This was going to happen fast. I wasn’t ready, but really, how could
someone be ready when they were going to have to fight off a giant, snake
demon?
“So… what now?” Alana was standing next to me, her breath
coming hard and fast.
I had to think quickly. “Stay to the light, and try and move
towards the back. We get stuck in the shadows, and they’ll get us.”
She nodded. “Works for me.”
We could both hear Doug hacking away upstairs, and more and
more light was starting to spill into the basement. The darkness around us was
occasionally broken by bursts of flame as the light hit one of the creatures.
“Lets move.”
