Morris was the first to wake up, his
head still spinning from the blast. Why had that idiot Voigt decided to hit
that bag? The first rule when dealing with glowing shit is not to hit it! That
corn fed redneck could have gotten him killed.
Carefully, Morris started to stand
up. He took his time, waiting for his head to settle, and the room to stop
spinning.
He glanced around. Everyone else was
still down. Everyone except for the two who shouldn’t have been standing.
Chad and Alice stood across the room
from him, a bright blue glow behind them. They were facing him, looking at him.
Alice smiled. “Do you want him? Or
should I?”
Chad cocked his head to the side,
and gave Morris the up and down. “I think this one is all yours.”
Chad stepped back, and Alice stepped
forward.
Morris didn’t know what to do. He
didn’t know how to react. Those two should be down for the count, if not down
for good. Especially the girl who was walking towards him. Petra had done a
number on her with that pipe of his. Really cracked her hard across the head.
Morris had almost felt bad for her.
Almost. It was her own fault for getting involved, and if someone doesn’t know
how to keep their mouth shut, and their head down, they have to pay the price.
“You looked surprised to see me like
this, Morris.” She smiled, reaching out and pulling the mask off his head. Her
voice was soft, ethereal, seeming to come from her and everywhere in the room
at the same time. “You should be.”
“How did you know my name?” Morris
was frozen in place.
“I know a lot of things about you.”
She smiled, her fingers gently touching his cheek. “I know that someone sent
you here. I know that someone asked you to hurt me and my friends, and I know
that you won’t be getting a chance to report back to them.”
“What?” Morris tried to take a step
away from Alice.
His foot didn’t even hit the floor
before the tentacle wrapped around his right ankle, flipping him upside down.
Another tentacle grabbed his left ankle, and he felt his legs being pulled
apart.
“I am so hungry.” Alice was smiling,
watching him. The tentacles were coming from her back, slithering out from the
tattered remains of her blouse. “And you look so yummy.”
Morris tried to scream, but the
second his mouth opened, and tentacle wriggled its way inside. He struggled for
a little bit, but then… then his mind started to drift away.
“My essence will make this easy for
you.” Alice’s voice drifted through the air towards him. “Easier than you
deserve.”
And then, he was gone, lost in the
mind destroying pleasure that Alice had brought down on him.
