I stopped her.
I called out her
boyfriend, but I never tried to get her away from him.
I riled him up, and let
her go away with him.
“Could you have stopped
her?”
I thought about it.
No. She never gave me the
chance.
They were gone right
after the fight.
“Then it’s not your
fault.”
She took a sip of her
drink.
“I wonder what ever
happened to that creep. They never found him?”
I wondered, too.
