The next day we took Nora
to the playground.
While she ran and played,
I told Kay and Doug about what I had seen.
It didn’t faze them.
I didn’t think it
would.
It was just one more
secret that this world had kept hidden from us.
We decided that we would
move out of Oak Park the next day.
Still, we needed
supplies. We needed rest.
We could handle one more
day.
